"And, we're back on the faculty benches..."

| Julia Fulop |

In January of this year, through a collaboration that we have with the faculty of Geography, Tourism and Sport - the specialization of Physiotherapy and Special Motricity, we gave a presentation to the students, which addressed two related topics:

Medical devices – catalysts in prophylaxis and convalescence and

The psychoemotional impact of disability on patients and their relatives.

During this event, I presented the students with the importance of using medical devices, accessories that can improve patients' passage through the recovery period. We wanted to inform about the existence of these devices and, more than that, to present the benefits that they can bring to the professional activity of future therapists. Then we highlighted the impact that the disability has on the patient and the relatives, the stages through which the person adapts and comes to integrate the disability into his identity and some important aspects in the interaction of specialists with patients.

The students came with questions and an educational context was created in which we could debate and explore various facets of the physiotherapist profession but also the importance of knowing some psychological aspects in their work.

This event was part of campaigns to raise awareness and support positive changes. And we returned to the faculty benches, but in a different role.
